Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Select Whiskey is a remarkable tribute to the legacy of Nearest Green, the first known African American Master Distiller. This small batch of select whiskey is curated by Victoria Eady Butler, Nearest’s great-great-granddaughter and twice-awarded master blender of the year by Whisky Magazine. The whiskey is crafted using the process of sugar maple charcoal mellowing, which Nearest helped perfect over 160 years ago. The result is a smooth and complex whiskey that is truly unique.
