Trio came to be when they were experimenting with a more easily-accessible Cabernet Franc blend than their Pasticcio, which is Cab Franc Dominant. About equal parts, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Merlot, The Syrah gives this luscious, and very integrated wine a touch of strawberry and pepper while the Melot adds a long, smooth finish. With so many blends containing Cabernet Sauvignon, Trio stands apart with its unique and oh-so-drinkable Carbernet Franc blend. Even those who aren’t usually fans of Cabernet Franc find Trio delicious. 2009 was an excellent vintage and is getting better all the time.
