San Vicente always offers a marked, defined character typical of the villages of the Sonsierra region; black fruits, blackberries and spiced notes. The voluptuous landscape of
these hillsides always offers us wines with a broader and silkier texture which envelops a defined, fresh structure in perfect balance. 93% Tempranillo and 7% Garnacha, the
2016 vintage was characterized by lower temperatures than usual during the whole year, as well as by rainfall mostly concentrated in the winter months, generating
vigorous bud break and exceptional fruit set. Very dry summer months led to water stress and late-ripening which was accomplished thanks to the last rains in
September.

The 2016 Lindes de Remelluri Viedos de Labastida, from a high-yielding year, matured in a combination of barriques of different origins and aged for 13 months. It has contained ripeness, integrated alcohol, nice balance and a nice expression on the nose. It shows more restraint than the one from San Vicente. I think the year shows the character of each village quite faithfully, and this time I prefer the Labastida again. It has a nice thread on the palate, velvety-textured with very fine tannins.
