The 2019 Brut Ros de Saigne La Confiance de Mon Pre is 100% Meunier from the oldest parcel in the Les Bouts de La Ville lieu-dit in Cuisles and saw 168 hours of maceration. Deep and expressive, this Ros is so impressive. The La Confiance is a terrific example of the Mouss house style. Cinnamon, crushed rocks and dried herbs all grace the long, persistent finish. Dosage is 2 grams per liter. Disgorged: February, 2023

Our Tasting Note: Probably our favorite wine of the tasting, this drank like a red burgundy with bubbles. Deeper rose color from the saignee process, light ruby. The nose was full of sappy red berry and cherry fruits, spices from the stem inclusion and some wild floral notes. Medium bodied, textural with a light touch of very fine tannin. Crazy long finish, a very cerebral wine.

• Only soils composed of green clays over limestone marls.

VINIFICATION

• Grapes hand-picked in market gardening crates
• Manual selection, destemming.
• 168 hours of cold pre-fermentation infusion, before saignee.
• Alcoholic fermentation in barrels, then racking in stainless steel tank for neutralization.
• Malolactic fermentation
• No filtration, no fining, no cold stabilization.
• Use of homemade mine sulfur (allows for lower sulfur use).
