Organically grown grapes were cultivated at 250-350 metres above sea level in the area of Salaparuta in the west of Sicily. The soil is clayey and the climate is Mediterranean, very dry and hot. The vineyard is free from pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers. The grapes were harvested by hand.

The Montalto Organic Nero d’Avola features notes of ripe red fruits, sweet spices and liquorice. The fruit flavours continue on the round, generous palate.
