Three varieties of raspberry are used to make this liqueur. The first, called Lloyd George, originates from Scotland and is particularly known for its small fruits. The other two berries, both from Burgundy, are Rose de Plombires and Violette de Boux.

The berries are pressed into a puree and are then added to an alcohol base for maceration. Lloyd George raspberries are mainly used for their bright color, while the intense flavors come mainly from the Burgundy berries. This blend of the three varieties produces a unique, rich and delicious complexity.
