“Mezcal Los Ocotales Wild Boar” is an exquisite mezcal produced by the Santiago family, who founded their company in 2018. Deeply rooted in rural traditions, the family has a long-standing heritage in mezcal production. This particular mezcal stands out for its commitment to social and economic positive impact, emphasizing the preservation of wild agave biodiversity, crucial for sustaining the legacy of traditional Mexican mezcal.

Originating from the community of San Dionisio Ocotepec in Oaxaca, the brand’s name pays homage to its roots. “Ocotales” is derived from the Nahuatl words “ocotl” (ocote) and “tepetl” (hill), translating to The hill of the ocotes.

Crafted by Master Mezcalero Adolfo Santiago Mndez, this mezcal features the wild boar (Agave Convallis) variety of agave, which matures over 12 to 15 years. The production process includes a conical river stone furnace and a copper still distillation, undergoing two distillation phases. This meticulous process, completed in 2021, results in a mezcal with a notable 51% alcohol volume, embodying the rich heritage and meticulous craftsmanship of the Santiago family.
