This stage of ageing is often where the distillate’s youthful exuberance begins to mellow, and the deeper, more intricate notes imparted by the cask come to the forefront.

Nose:Apple fritters, caramel and a hint of floral malt.

Palate:Biscuit dough, white chocolate, a dollop of treacle.

Finish:Quite short, with a flash of vanilla and cashew.
