The Mascot is a bold red made from grapes grown in special vineyards on the hillsides. These vineyards belong to BOND, Harlan Estate, and Promontory, but they use the younger vines for this particular wine. Originally The Mascot was a small project that the family, the winemaking team, and close friends worked on together. They picked the grapes from recently replanted vineyards, and this wine gives you a taste of what the future holds for its parent estates. It’s like a young picture of what those estates will become. Will Harlan, the son of Bill Harlan, is the person who makes this wine. It’s made mostly from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, about 90%, and also has some Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
