Just bottled before the harvest. A pretty purple of medium depth, but it is the nose which is striking with a burst of pinot fruit, backed by a little meatiness from the gamay. The latter also delivers more acidity. Crunchy strawberry fruit at the back, absolutely lovely. If you want a brilliant bottle from chez dAngerville at an affordable price, look no further. Really a very persistent finish for this level. Drink from 2024-2027. Tasted Oct 2023.

WineAdvocate (Kelley): The 2022 Bourgogne Passetoutgrains offers up aromas of sweet berries, cherries and spiced plums, followed by a medium-bodied, lively and fine-boned, pretty palate.

Vinous, Neal Martin: The 2022 Bourgogne Passetoutgrain has developed a very Pinot-driven nose despite there being 50% Gamay in the blend. Fine transparency. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and crisp red fruit, nicely proportioned with just a little leafiness on the finish. Easy to swallow.

The Bourgogne Passetoutgrain comes from a plot located in the commune of Volnay, in its eastern part, which is not on a hillside. The soils are quite deep, clayey and not very calcareous. The Domaine Marquis d’Angerville had abandoned the production of Bourgogne Passetoutgrain for a few years, but has returned to the locality of Monpoulain. The composition of this Bourgogne Passetoutgrain is rather evenly distributed between Pinot Noir and Gamay.
