“The 2022 Riesling Le Dragon was picked in late September, fermented for four months, went through full malolactic conversion and was bottled at the end of May 2023. This is an unusual Dragon, floral, gentile, perfumed with lovely summer blossom aligned to citrus and ripe yellow pear. The palate is fluid, bright, just as scented, but distinctly creamy and bone-dry. A stony zestiness frames this rounded generosity. Smooth and round. (bone dry)”.- By Anne Krebiehl MW on January 2024

Our Tasting Notes: Very floral, slightly oily texture mouthwaering mineral spicy and savory.

Lithe and dry, this white is subtly laced with floral, apple and mineral aromas and flavors. It’s balanced and harmonious, with a long, mouthwatering finish.-winery

Terroir: From the south-facing Drachenloch (Dragon hole) vineyards – this exceptional geographical site is considered one of the warmest in Alsace. The vineyard is composed of limestone soil, positioned in the middle of a rocky outcrop that protects it from the North and East winds.
Age of the vines: 40 years old
Vinification: The grapes were handpicked and whole-bunch pressed very slowly and gently in pneumatic presses over 5-8 hours // natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts // aged in stainless steel or big oak barrel, depending on the vintage.

The emblematic name of this place called Drachenloch means the Dragonss cave in French. It is linked to a legend from Turckheim where a dragon, after fighting the sun, found refuge in this cave. His blood would have fertilized the local soil.
This wine is from a single parcel in Turkheim. The site has limestone soil, and the wine has a vibrant mineral character, and yellow apple aromas.
