Form one of Volnays best sites that makes one of its best wines, .36ha of 62 year-old vines planted in clay-limestone dominant soils. 100% destemmed, alcoholic fermentation in tank (stainless and cement), Malolactic fermentation in barrels, 10-15 days fermentation, 100% native yeast. 18 months on 30% new French oak barriques.

The 2022 Volnay Clos des Chnes 1er Cru, which had a little more grillure than other cuves so that they lost part of the production, has a beautiful nose with pressed violet-infused red fruit and seamlessly integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, fleshy but with ample backbone and insistent grip towards the finish. This Volnay has great potential. – By Neal Martin on January 2024

A ripe, bright and cool mix consists mainly of red cherry, raspberry, soft earth and a pretty mix of floral elements. There is better volume and intensity to the sappy and tautly muscular flavors that brim with minerality on the dusty, youthfully austere, long and built-to-age finale. *Outstanding*
