Crafted from vines planted on seven tiny parcels around the lieu-dit Pignan (sandy soils), the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape Les 7 de Pignan, a 100% Grenache Noir entirely destemmed, wafts from the glass with aromas of pepper, licorice, dark berries and violets. Medium to full-bodied, structured and enrobing, it’s perfectly balanced with a layered texture, a fleshy core of fruit, velvety tannins and a long, penetrating, and ethereal finish. Matured for 15 months in foudres and macerated for 42 days (the longest at this address), this cuve always rewards patience. Drinking Window: 2034 – 2054

This vintage presents a carmine red color, with brick-red highlights. The fruit is very pure, with a beautiful intensity and elegance. We find peppery touches, black cherries and notes of menthol that reveal a lot of aromatic freshness. The palate is smooth, rich and finely bodied with the velvet of ripe fruit. Fine on the attack and marked by freshness, this smooth and crisp wine has a beautiful length.Very good aging potential.

Since 1860, this domaine has been handed over from father to son by the Boiron family. For five generations, the philosophy of Bosquet des Papes estate is to produce laying down wines, meaning that they can be kept for many years, thereby respecting the traditions of Chteauneuf-du-Pape wines. The domaine is now run by Nicolas Boiron and his wife Jeanne-Claire

Most of the wooden vessels in the cellar are foudres but they are using more and more demi-muids maybe by influence of Philippe Cambie.

The domain covers about 40 different parcels, a total of 32 ha of which 3.5 ha are Cotes du Rhone. The average age of the vines is about 50 years
