The Syrah and Viognier grapes which make up the ‘Cte Brune’ come from Ampuis, the village at the heart of the Cte Brune appellation. The vineyard measures only one hectare, it is very steep and the vines are located in the middle of the hillside. The vines are sustainably farmed and grow on poor, arid soils. The fruit produced is small and concentrated, yielding on average 24 tonnes/hectare per year.Aromas of violet, spices, dark fruit and black olive, follow through on the palate. The wine is full-bodied, with excellent structure and balance with a lifted, spicy finish.
