Chteau de Lamarque is a delightfulHaut-Mdocproperty which is situated on the left bank of the Gironde, to the north of Margaux, on the south of Pauillac and Saint-Julien. The estate associated with this medieval bastion of Lamarque is producing some fine wines. The 2018 vintage features loads of fresh, ripe, juicy berries, offering a blast of fruit, cigar box, wet earth and peppery goodness. There are plenty or earthy red fruits in every sniff and sip.
94 Points– James Suckling
A chewy, linear 2018 with very attractive blackberry, chocolate and wet-earth character. Some mushrooms, too. Its full-bodied, very tight and tannic, yet polished and creamy-textured. Flavorful finish. Very typically Medoc. Needs three years to soften. Try after 2024.”
