Chteau Rieussecs Carmes de Rieussec is a Semillon dominant sweet wine from the Sauternais region of Graves, Bordeaux. The nose is jammy and complex with charming marmalade notes. The palate is powerful and balanced, with great acidity complimenting notes of pineapple, honey and delicate spice. An excellent desert wine.

Blend: 84 % Smillon, 12 % Sauvignon Blanc, 4 % Muscadelle

Winery Tasting Notes; Intense nose with beautiful aromatic complexity. Mellow, slightly minty notes promise good balance. On aeration, notes of rhubarb tart and a hint of dried apricots develop. The palate is well balanced with the wines freshness underscored by a pleasant acidity. There are notes of dried fig accompanied again by dried apricot. Subtly toasted oaky notes contribute to the wines roundness and smoothness. A freshly-struck-match minerality accompanies the wine for its entire length.

Our tasting notes: This did not have the complexity of your Gran Vin, but it charmed us nonetheless. Very creamy, with a hint of peaches and apricots, balancing its sweetness with high acidity. Very pleasant second lable for Rieussec. We liked the wine some much we bought some for our stores shelf.
