  • A brunch staple, a beloved Southern classic, and one of our favorite cocktails, the Bloody Mary is inarguably a quintessential cocktail. However, a debate has long lingered over the ingredients that make the best Bloody Mary, and while we have always known our answer to that question, it was finally time to share it in our Bloody Mary Mix.

    That is, of course, our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Ghost Pepper Mash. The same caramelized heat responsible for our original Pappy Van Winkle Pepper Sauce and Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Spicy Maple Syrup is the balanced, sweet, oaky, subtly spicy flavor that makes our Bloody Mary Mix delight with delicious, bold, and juicy taste. With the unique savory dose of Georgia-grown ghost peppers from Midland Ghost, aged to perfection in our retired Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrels for an infusion of signature flavor, and complemented by a layer of smoked sea salt, our long-awaited Bloody Mary Mix was brought to life by our cocktail partners, Bittermilk, in Charleston, S.C.

    Pair with vodka for a traditional Bloody Mary, try tequila or mezcal for a Bloody Maria, or enjoy with a light beer for a Michelada. Delightful on its own with celery and olives, or try our favorite brunch accouterment with cornmeal-crusted bacon for your next Pappy Van Winkle-inspired brunch or tailgate. For an extra level of spice, we recommend a dash of our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Pepper Sauce.

  • Our Bloody Mary Mix is the result of a collaborative effort that combines our cocktail partner, Bittermilk, with our ghost pepper mash from Midland Ghost. Bittermilk, based in Charleston, S.C., is a small husband and wife team who desired to simplify the process of making craft cocktails at home, delivering a line of cocktail mixers made by bartenders for cocktail enthusiasts that are crafted with real ingredients and bottled by humans. The sweet heat of our signature Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged ghost pepper mash comes from the small, family-run business, Midland Ghost, who share a similar passion and single-minded dedication with their proprietary Georgia-grown Ghost Peppers.

  • Directions:

    For a traditional Bloody Mary: mix 4 parts of our Bloody Mary Mix with 1 part vodka, shake with ice, and add your favored garnish.

    For a Bloody Maria, follow a 4:1 ratio with tequila or mezcal. For a Michelada, pair 4 parts mixer with 1 part light beer and a lime.
