Orvalis characterised by a fruity, earthy and slightly acidic bouquet. Its flavours are complex with distinct hoppy bitterness and a long, dry finish. Like all Trappist ales, Orval is sold only to fund the monastery itself and other charitable endeavors.
Pours cloudy orange with a thick, creamy off-white head. The smell is of lemon peel, tartness, and spicy sourdough. The taste is unique and complex. Tart lemon, spiced dough and a wine-like vinegar are all present, with a sharp hop bitterness. Only slight hints of alcohol are present. It’s a wonderful sipping brew and a true world classic!
