The 2016 The Flight is another beauty, and it’s slightly more elegant and balanced, as well as pure, than the 2015. A deep ruby-purple colour, this has a rich, precise, dusty plum and cassis character. The floral lift and subtle clove-coriander oak gives some complexity, even at this early stage. Though fairly full-bodied with a velvet-textured array of firm tannins, its bright acidity gives lift / elegance to the palate. Finely-crafted, with a long, aromatic finish.

Blend: 66% Merlot, 23%, Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc

This is the best Flight I have ever had with so much merlot character coming through with black olives, hazelnuts, brown sugar and blackberries, as well as violets. Full-bodied yet linear and very long. Extremely refined and fresh. Needs a few years to come completely together, but already so refined.
