Packaged in a really fun bottle with a transparent square on the front label surrounded by a mosaic of colour, the Cantine Guidi 2019 Vernaccia di San Gimignano is a textbook, albeit easygoing, expression of the grape. The wine’s texture is thin and lean, but there’s just enough substance here to support fresh flavours of apricot, grapefruit and Golden Delicious apple. It’s just the thing to wash down a simple fritto misto on a summer day. Some 15,000 bottles were produced.
