The ageing of this wine has changed in recent years and is now half in amphoras, with 30% new oak and 20% used oak, for 12 months. The result is a deep ruby purple colour and evocative and seductive aromatics of blue fruit and bramble. The palate is smooth and silky, with soft and integrated tannins allowing the fruit to shine. There is freshness of acidity on the back end that lifts the palate to add some florality.
Blend: 43% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Petit Verdot
92 Points–James Suckling
A dense, layered red with chocolate, hazelnut and redcurrants. Its medium-to full-bodied. Chewy tannins at the end.
