The highly allocated magnums of 2019 are atrue expression of the Caymus style. French oak barrel and cassis-like tones of ripeness, saddle leather and espresso are expressively noted on the nose. This wine’s palate is full, rich with abundant soft tannins and a hint of rustic grittiness.

The Red Schooner Transit #1 was part of a new project by the Caymus family to make wines which grow best in other parts of the world. They began with Malbec, sourcing grapes from Mendoza and had them shipped back in chilled containers to California. The family’s longstanding winemaking techniques were then used to achieve a style with the famous Caymus thumbprint – bold and luxurious, wrapped in velvety softness.
