Terroir Notes: This is Charnay (60%) and Pierreclos (40%) with clay-dominant soils, a cuve with a harmonious blend sourced from these two esteemed Mconnais sites with clay-limestone soils and sun-swept slopes. Collectively, the terroirs bring both freshness and subtle minerality to the blend.
Winemaking Notes: Produced only with first press juice in used barrels for 6 months aging with minimal batonnage.
Tasting Notes: Pale gold with lively reflections. Expressive aromas of pear, peach, and orchard fruits, accented with nuances of toasted nuts, citrus zest, and gentle oak spice. On the palate mid to full-bodied and richly textured, the wine balances plush fruit with a lively mineral thread. Flavors of white stone fruit and dried orchard fruits mingle with a graciously textured core and poised acid lift. An elegant, but generously textured Mcon-Villages Chardonnayrich and inviting, with both structure and satisfying mouthfeel, with the signature Guffens-Heynen light as a feather weight. Ideal companions include grilled chicken, turkey, nutty fish dishes, creamy pasta, or cheeses.
