For over 200 years, the Dr. Loosen estate has been one of the great names of the Mosel Valley. Under the direction of Ernst Loosen since 1988, the winery has become internationally renowned for producing world-class Rieslings that balance ripeness, finesse, and extraordinary minerality. The estates holdings include some of the Mosels most celebrated vineyards, many planted with ungrafted vines that are well over a century old. Erdener Treppchen (little staircase of Erden) is one of Dr. Loosens prized steep-slope vineyards, famous for its red slate soils that impart both power and spicy minerality to the wines.
