Terroir
Camparos Langhe Rosso comes from organically farmed vineyards in the Langhe hills, within sight of Barolos famed crus. The vines grow at altitudes of 300450 meters, where cool night air preserves acidity and bright aromatics, while the sun-rich days ensure full ripening. The soils are classic Langhe marla mix of clay, limestone, and sandgiving the wine its balance of fruit, structure, and mineral precision. Certified organic since 2000, the estates practices foster biodiversity and low yields, focusing on purity of fruit and authentic terroir expression.
Vinification
The 2021 Langhe Rosso is a blend of Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto, harvested by hand and vinified separately to preserve each varietys character. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with gentle pump-overs to extract color and tannin without harshness. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages partly in stainless steel and partly in neutral oak barrels for 810 months, allowing the components to harmonize before blending and bottling. The result is a vibrant, approachable wine with a touch of Langhe elegance.
Tasting Notes
Bright ruby-red in color, the 2021 vintage offers an inviting nose of fresh red cherry, raspberry, and plum, accented by violet, sweet spice, and a hint of licorice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and juicy, with Barberas freshness, Dolcettos easy charm, and Nebbiolos fine-grained tannic frame. Flavors of ripe berries and redcurrant are supported by subtle mineral notes and a whisper of almond. The finish is fresh, clean, and lightly savory, making it as versatile as it is delicious.
