Tasting Note:
A little deeper med straw-gold, green flecks. Elegant nose and palate, lots of flavor, a finessed palate weight. Med+ aromas and flavors of flowers, apples, lemons, stones and seashells. Med+ palate. Med+ finish is crystalline, mineral and fruit laden.

The Montee de Tonnerre vineyard is right next to the Grand Cru Blanchot vineyard, and is generally considered the best of the Premier Crus with Forets. Francois personal vines are located in the heart of the oldest section of this vineyard. Slightly set back from the Grands Crus vineyards, Monte de Tonnerre seems to be challenging the Climat right across from it, Blanchot. Its moderate slopes, exposed to the west, welcome the sun in the afternoon. The grapes ripen easily, especially since they are protected from the East winds. The shallow soil is underlain with Kimmeridgian marly limestone, and reveals veins of blue clay, which gives the wines both minerality and energy. Monte de Tonnerre is a flag-bearing Climat that covers approximately 42.5 hectares, including Chapelot, Cte de Brchain and Pied d’Aloup.
