The 2022 Rully Blanc Montagne La Folie has a perfumed bouquet with peach skin, hints of tangerine and a light, Muscat-like aroma. This blossoms in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a crisp line of acidity and notes of lime cordial and citrus peel. Whilst not the most complex on the finish, I admire its cohesion and focusa Rully that should give several years’ drinking pleasure. Rully Montagne La Folie comes from a unique plot of 2ha 45 facing South-East located on the Montagne de la Folie between Rully and Chagny.La Folie translates as the folly. Claudie is the daughter of the former winemaker at Domaine Drouhin and is a well know enologist in Burgundy.

• The soil is clay-limestone and very stony.
• The vine has an average age of 47 years.
• In conversion to organic farming.
• After harvesting and pressing, the must is cold-settled for 24 hours.
• The alcoholic fermentation takes place in oak barrels.
• Oak from the Alliers forest with a medium toast and mixed new (30%) and mostly used barrels
• The frequency of stirring and the duration of aging in barrels vary according to the vintage, usually 12-14 months
