100% Nebbiolo fruit from their young Nebbiolo vineyards.
Winemaking: Fruit was picked between September 17th and 29th. 1/5th whole cluster fermented. After a short maceration, the wine was racked to finish fermentation off the skins. The wine underwent a gentler extraction to preserve some natural freshness. Very short aging in a closed stainless steel vat prior to bottling on February 16th, 2023.

“The bright transparent ruby 2024 Langhe Nebbiolo Clare J.C. is a preview of what is to come. The nose is fresh and inviting with poppy red fruit, floral perfume, and wet stones, while the palate is snappy and refreshing, medium-bodied, and lovely, with ripe notes of white pepper and spice, likely accentuated by the addition of whole clusters in fermentation and a light carbonic maceration that add a lively verve and zest to the wine. Drink over the near term and serve with a light chill.”

Clar JC is a unique wine, our take on the forgotten days of Nebbiolo, when it was enjoyed in its lighter and fresher garment. The winemaking protocol follows the 1606 writings of G.B. Croce, jeweler of the House of Savoia: the wine is bottled soon after the fermentation so as to retain a gentle off-dry finish and a lovely energy. The 2022 Clar JC shows gorgeous cherry and Nebbiolo tones on the nose and a very silky and floral finish.
