Our Tasting Note
Michael explains that this one off, special wine, is the same source as the Ultramarine wines. Medium-gold color, med/med+ mousse thickness. The nose is medium+ with citrus, chalky, mineral, saline and light ginger oxidative notes, white floral blossoms, and a very pleasant bitterness like a citrus rind, very light a subtle yeasty lees notes. The palate is medium bodied, with a medium mousse, med+ acidity, medium+ flavors, the palate is fresh, chalky, and linear with a long, fresh, and very familiar profile to the Ultramarine Blanc des Noirs from the same vineyard. Not to mention its a dead ringer for a slightly oxidative style champagne that has the slightest hints of lees aging at this point.
