Jasper Morris on the vineyard site:
The quarry for which this vineyard is names is still in working order. It is unique in Burgundy that the workings are underground, rather than open-face, there being vineyard above. It is expensive work extracting the marble from under the vines, but it is of notably fine quality. The vineyard makes a fine, lighter style of red wine.

The two primary parcels are in Plantes Aux Barons (0.40 hectare) and Charbonnires (0.60 hectare), both of which are in Prmeaux on its northern border with Nuits. These low-yielding old vines produce a concentrated and classic Nuits.
