Our Tasting Note (1/16/2025):
Golden core color, med-, with a thick mousse, persistent, tiny bubbles. The perfume is pronounced, with white orchard fruits of green apples and pears, roasted almonds and hazelnuts, a very pleasant salinity, chalky and stoney minerality, a slight hint of toasty biscuit from the lees aging (3 years).Medium bodied, with med+ racy acidity (remember, no malo). Pronounced palate intensity with a long, complex and fresh finish.

This is a non-vintage blanc de blancs, blended from four different years and sourced exclusively from the Grand Cru villages of Avize, Oger and Cramant where Patricks average vine age is an impressive average of 40 years old. The base vintage is 30-35%, reserve wines roughly equal parts of 3 prior vintages. The name of this wine was changed late spring 2017 in time for the domaine’s new labels. This is the cuve was formerly known as Slection Brut and Extra Brut.
