Med/med+ ruby core, vibrant lighter ruby edges. A med+ nose, more subtle nuances of the fruits, tighter but still generous bands of aromas, a little darker fruited than the SBC with with cherry, blackberry, dark plum, less spicy, though some savory nuance, still some purple florals too. Med+ body, med acidity, med/med+ fine grain tannins, med+ flavor intensity. Long, fresh, fruity focused finish adds some spice as well. My secodn fave of the day of the single vinyards.

The 2022 Grenache Thompson Vineyard emerges from own-rooted vines planted in the late 1990s and early 2000s. It offers up an exotic mlange of dark red fruit, spice, new leather, pomegranate and blood orange. Complex and dynamic, the 2022 has a ton to offer. Winery:Hailing from our closest vineyard to HQ, via own-rooted Grenache vines planted in 1997 . In 2018, we managed to secure five rows in one of my most admired plantings in Santa Barbara County. This historic site sits just two hills over from the town we call home. Planted to Alban clone, own-rooted, on a south facing hillside of flint and sand.
Native ferment, foot-tread twice daily for 11 days. Pressed on day 13.
37% whole cluster, 11 month levage in neutral french 220L barrique.
Finishing pH: 3.61 — Alcohol: 13.7% abv — Total Production: 166 cases
