Our Tasting Note
100% Grenache. A light med- ruby color. A pronounced nose of juicy red cherry, strawberry-rhubarb, rose petals, and garrigue (herbs de provence). A medium body, with chewy, youthful tannins means this wine has some stuffing too. A pronounced palate and a cool, long finish that resonantes with red fruit and tannin. This is a delicious expression of 100% Grenache from a sandy parcel in Lirac from Chateauneuf producer Domaine Feraud.
*The Claux Guillard is not eligible for Lirac OR Ctes du Rhne designation because the only red varietal planted is Grenache. (Lirac and CDR require a blend). Whilethe first vintage of Claux Guillard was 2020, Feraudattributes everything he is able to do with this wine so farto the great care Monsieur Guillard has taken over past 50+ years and thus named the wine after him.
